Random updates

It seems like Caleb is doing something new almost every day!  Here are some of his recent updates:

- responds when we call his name

- listens most of the time when we say "no"

- waves "hi"

- can use his sippy cup as of today

- starts to "dance" when we sing or play music.  He stands next to the coffee table and kind of bounces his knee.

- He is learning patterns and games.  When he's standing next to the coffee table, he crouches down and we say "down!", and then he pops up and we say "up!"  He'll do this over and over.

- He's understanding words like "blankie" and "ball."  When we say them, he'll look for them or crawl over to them.

Some updates about David and me:

- I'm enjoying decorating our house for Christmas.  It's the first Christmas we've had with a finished living room and a mantel over the fireplace to hang stockings from.  Here is Caleb helping me decorate:

- David will be 29 next week!  Last year in the 20s!

- We're trying to eat healthy this month...no sugar, fast food, processed foods, etc.  Mostly just trying to eat fruits, veggies, meats...  We're calling it our detox.  :)  I know, crazy to try that around the holidays.  We're trying to lose some weight and introduce healthier foods into our diet.  We're doing just a short time period because I'm better with short-term goals.  It's kind of a test run, and then we'll see how things go.

Reading faces

"Ok, I'm getting the feeling you're not happy?"

"Why don't you tell me how you really feel?"

We're trying to introduce finger foods to get him to try to feed himself, so I gave him half of a banana.  He wasn't very excited about it.  In fact, he smashed it to smithereens.

Park time!

The weather here has been gorgeous!  To take advantage of it, we took a walk to a park near our house.  It was fun because they had an infant swing.  Caleb had never been in one before, and he loved it!

"Weeeee!  I'm flying!"

Halloween

This was Caleb's first Halloween.  Our church hosted a Fall Festival, complete with games, rides, a petting zoo, bounce houses, and more!  Of course, Caleb was too young to do most of it, but he had a blast looking around at all the action.  He didn't even mind wearing his costume.  Poor guy probably had no idea why in the world we would put him in that outfit and parade him around all the craziness at the festival.

I think this face says it all.  "What are they doing to me?"

Going with Grandpa

They had a toddler room with games and toys for his age.

Playing with the other Caleb in his giraffe costume.

We had to take a picture of our monkey in a tree.
