Lately

Here are a bunch of random pictures of Caleb recently.

A couple weeks ago we traveled up to College Station to see some friends. David got to go to the first Aggie football game of the season. Then we drove to Possum Kingdom Lake to hang out with some friends for a few hours on Labor Day weekend. Then we drove to Dallas to spend a week with my family. We had lots of fun!

Caleb drove the whole way...

Ok, not really. :)

He liked all of the attention from Nana and Grandpa and Aunt Susie! He was showing off during his favorite time of the day - nudie time! Yes, he loves being naked. He could be in the worst mood, but you take all of his clothes off, and he's a new man.

Me and my buddy. :)

He just started resting his head on our shoulders. It's soooo cute! It doesn't last more than a few seconds, but I treasure each one!

More naked time - and practicing his sitting skills. He's still wobbly when he's sitting, but he's getting better! I don't know why he has his sock in his mouth. I guess he thought he was being funny. I thought it was pretty funny too. It's cute now that he's starting to get a sense of humor.

Out back on our patio enjoying the cooler weather. Thanks to our friend Erin for letting Caleb borrow this fun toy!

Today I put gel in his hair for the first time. :) So cute and preppy in his new sailor outfit!

Caleb had his two bottom teeth just break through. He has not been happy with all that pain. But he seems to be doing better now that they've poked out. I'll try to get a pic of his pearly whites....but not much of them are showing at this point.

More to come...
While we were in Dallas we bought two of the cutest Halloween costumes for him. I can't wait to see him in them. Not sure which one we'll use this year. You'll have to wait and be surprised!

Finally!

That long awaited day has finally come! Caleb is sleeping through the night...more importantly I am sleeping through the night!

I know! 7+ months of waking up every night. I was beginning to think he wouldn't sleep through the night until he was 15.

I'm almost embarrassed to admit that it took him this long. It seems like it's the number 1 question about how your baby is doing when people ask. But since he didn't sleep though the night on his own, I didn't feel comfortable about cutting out his night feeding until he was on solid foods. And I'm glad I did it that way. It seemed to be the right time for him.

It's been 14 consistent days now. I'm so proud of my boy. I just had to give him one night of "tough love" where I let him cry...not fun. But he caught on quickly and was sleeping good from there on out.

He's been a really good napper for months now, so now that nighttime is conquered, I'd say his sleep issues are a thing of the past. Although, from talking to other moms, I know all too well that sleep problems creep in again sometimes during certain developmental milestones, teething, growth spurts, etc. So, for now, I'm just going to enjoy it while it lasts!

Funny face

Had to post this video of Caleb making a funny face while eating. Ha! Cracks me up!

It's a mixture of bananas and prunes. Yummmmm.

It was towards the end of his eating time, actually he was probably already done, but I decided to go grab the camera. So you can tell he's not super happy.

I do feel kind of bad feeding him something that makes him cringe like that. He actually does better with the vegetables. Hopefully his taste buds will get used to it. :)
