Here are a few phone pics from our week:
We went to the pool with some friends:
I had to run some errands at the mall, so I let the boys play in the play area for awhile. Nathan is usually intimidated by such places, but he totally loved it. He ran around, and didn't even care where I was. He'd come back and check in with me every once in a while, and go back to running around. And there were a ton of kids there.
And of course, going down the slide the normal way is too boring for Caleb.
Caleb improvised a little parade with my chopsticks and some drums. While carrying it around, he said, "Mom! I need a strap!" So I went and got David's belt. Future marching band kid.
We built a fort today. Forts are hit or miss. Most of the times Nathan doesn't really get the concept and ends up walking around in it, and messing it up with his head, and I have to fix it like 50 times. But this one was pretty successful.
Some funny/cute things from the boys this week:
After reading them a bed time story, I asked Caleb how he talks to God. I was just kind of expecting him to say "prayers", but he said, "When I cry. Or when I need help." It was so sweet.
I was reading a Bible verse book, and I read the page about "Honor your father and mother." It had a picture of the family eating, and the boy was eating his broccoli, and the mom was giving him a thumbs-up. A few pages later, Caleb said remorsefully, "I didn't eat my broccoli one time." :)
I let Caleb sleep with his glow worm (that lights up and plays music) last night. And I told him before I left his room, not to push it too many times because it's not play time, it's time for sleep. So this morning I asked if he liked sleeping with his glow worm, and he said with a big smile, "Yes. I pushed it 8 times." The fact that he counted just cracks me up. He is so my child. Rule follower!
I got some sushi the other day (cooked! b/c of being preggo), and Nathan was begging for every bite. He ate as many bites as I did - just smaller, because I didn't want to share! I guess I found my sushi partner!
And a flashback photo just for fun - almost 1 year ago:
