Ranch Weekend Round-up:
Boys having fun playing in the bin of corn.
Going for a ride in the MULE.
Checking out the dried up riverbed.
Caleb preferred to stay in the MULE with me. :)
They had lots of cows on the property. Nathan's favorite thing was to point them out, and then say, "Hey cow! Look-a-me!"
Both boys loved riding on the 4-wheeler.
It was the first time we've ever had the boys sleep together. They slept on the blow-up mattress. While there was about an hour or so of giggling before bed both nights, they did really well. Nathan woke up early the first morning (we think he was scared from not recognizing where he was), so David went on the floor and slept with them a bit.
At nap time I had to stay in the room and keep telling them to close their eyes and rest. They only slept about 40 minutes, but at least it was something!
Caleb even got up to go to the bathroom during the night, and didn't bother Nathan. This is how I found hims sleeping the second morning. He must have been tired because Caleb was up bouncing around, and it took quite awhile for Nathan to wake up.
We had a fun weekend! A ranch is definitely a wonderful place for boys!
Beach Weekend Splash:
It was Nathan's first time at the beach, and he LOVED it! He just smiled pretty much the whole time, and talked about the soft sand.
Uncle Danny and Daddy took Caleb in the water a bit, while Aunt Sarah played with Nathan. Caleb wasn't a fan of going out far in the water. On the way to the beach, some of the questions he asked, "Daddy, do you like to go in the ocean?" "Daddy, are there sharks in the ocean?" "Daddy are there fish in the ocean?"
Apparently this is a tradition now. This is Nathan being tossed in the water. Remember the one of Caleb two years ago?
Building a sand castle with Uncle Danny.
Aunt Sarah brought a kite.
After the beach we went to a restaurant for lunch. It was right across from Pleasure Pier, which wasn't there two years ago when we went. But it was fun to see all the amusement rides and people. We ate on the balcony upstairs, and the boys had fun watching the cars, motorcycles, and buses go by. We even saw a man on a unicycle!
It seems the end of September is the perfect time of year to go (for me, at least). It was sunny and breezy. Not too hot, but warm with a cool wind. We had a wonderful time!
