We had a blast at Halloween this year! It was actually our first year to participate in a traditional Halloween. The past two years we've gone to the Fall Festival at our church. The church has tons of fun activities for kids, and Caleb was too young to go trick-or-treating. But we just moved, so this year, the neighbors in our cul-de-sac invited us to a block party. Our neighbors are so nice. It's a very close-knit group of families, and they seemed to welcome us into the group. We all gathered at the edge of the cul-de-sac, had dinner, and handed out candy. Caleb LOVED looking for the kids coming and giving them candy in their bags. I know people will probably think we should be committed for child-neglect and turn us into CPS, but our kids have never had candy. Not sure Caleb even knows what it actually is. He had more fun sorting the different pieces and looking at the shiny wrappers. Oh, he'll have many years of eating candy, I'm sure. I'm just not in a rush to get him hooked yet. :) But for now, he just enjoyed being the treater.

I think it's AWESOME they haven't had candy! JJ is not a candy kid, strangely. If Halloween was all about handing out baked goods, he'd REALLY be into that. You guys are great parents, is all. They've got YEARS of candy consumption left :) They look TOTALLY ADORABLE, btw!
